The Edmund was a British whaling ship which drifted or became shipwrecked in Ezo (Hokkaido) in 1850. Thirty-two surviving crew members were escorted by officials of Matsumae han to Nagasaki, where they were placed in the Buddhist temple of Seikô-ji. They were questioned by the Nagasaki bugyô for a time, but were eventually released and returned home.
