The Kiriko festival is a festival held annually in many parts of the Noto peninsula and surrounding areas. The earliest kiriko festivals are held each year in the 7th month of the lunar calendar in Ushitsu village; other localities hold the festival later in the 7th to 9th months.

The key features of the festival are the kiriko, large wooden lanterns constructed to accompany mikoshi in parade.
