Tadazumi was a senior retainer of Chosokabe Motochika. He was active in the negotiations with Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1585 that allowed Motochika to retain Tosa province. Later, he was sent to collect the body of Chosokabe Nobuchika, killed by the Shimazu during the Battle of Hetsugigawa (1587).
