Kashiwara Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the city of Kashiwara, in Nara prefecture, the supposed Imperial capital of Japan's first (legendary) emperor, Emperor Jimmu. The shrine was established in 1890, on the 2,550th anniversary of Emperor Jimmu supposedly establishing (and ascending to) the throne at Kashiwara in 660 BCE.

Fifty years after its establishment, in 1940, on the 2600th anniversary of the supposed founding of the Imperial nation, Kashiwara Shrine was the site of various official national festivities. Video of these events was lost for many years, but was rediscovered and restored by the Asahi Newspaper Company, among others, in late 2013.
