Tei Heitetsu was a Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat, known for the compilation of the Ryûkyû-koku kyûki. A translation and adaptation of the Ryûkyû-koku yuraiki into Chinese, with the additional of nine more volumes, Heitetsu completed the task in 1731. He also edited the Kyûyô.
In 1752, he served as gieisei (master of the procession & of street musicians) in that year's Ryukyuan embassy to Edo.
