- Ashikaga Tadafuyu becomes Kyushu Tandai, and establishes a garrison aimed at 'punishing' the eight provinces of Bingo, Suô, Bitchû, Chôshû (Nagato), Izumo, Hôki, and Inaba.
- Ashikaga Takauji dismisses Ashikaga Tadayoshi from his service.
- In a famous incident recorded in the Taiheiki and elsewhere, the crowd at a dengaku performance organized and attended by Shogun Ashikaga Takauji and Kanpaku Nijô Yoshimoto grows so large and excited that the stands collapse, with over one hundred people killed.
