  • Japanese: 金剛杖 (kongou zue)

The kongô-zue is an octagonal wooden staff used by mountain climbers and mountain ascetics, and particularly associated with the yamabushi. The character of Benkei, when portrayed on the Noh or kabuki stage, often wields one such staff.
