Chen Wendi (r. 559-566) was one of the few successful emperors of the state of Southern Chen. Succeeding his uncle, Emperor Wu of Chen, who founded the dynasty, Wendi consolidated the kingdom's territory, and expanded it by seizing lands from claimants to the throne of Liang.
