Chen Wendi (r. 559-566) was one of the few successful emperors of the state of Southern Chen. Succeeding his uncle, [[Emperor Wu of Chen], who founded the dynasty, Wendi consolidated the kingdom's territory, and expanded it by seizing lands from claimants to the throne of Liang.
