Seven Spears of Shizugatake
During the Battle of Shizugatake between Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the Sakuma forces under the command of Shibata Katsuie in 1583, seven of Hideyoshi's finest officers were recognized as the 'seven spears' of the battle. These were Fukushima Masanori, Hirano Nagayasu, Kasuya Takenori, Katagiri Katsumoto, Kato Kiyomasa, Kato Yoshiaki, and Wakizaka Yasuharu.
