Richard Lane was a Japanese art collector and dealer, and expert in particular on ukiyo-e woodblock prints of the Edo period. His 1978 book Images from the Floating World remains a prominent work on the subject in the Anglophone world today.

Following his death, much of Lane's collection was obtained by the Honolulu Museum of Art (formerly Honolulu Academy of Arts).
