He is credited with introducing Qing music to the Ryûkyûan court, devoting two months in 1663 to teaching the Crown Prince, the king's son-in-law, and a son of one of the Sanshikan, a number of pieces on the zheng. The lessons took place at the Buddhist temple of Tenkai-ji for one month, and at Shuri castle for another month.
