Gideon Tant was the opperhoofd, or head, of the Dutch East India Company factory (or, base) at Dejima, in Nagasaki, from 1703 to 1704.

Immediately prior to his assignment to Dejima, he had served as opperhoofd in the Siamese royal capital of Ayutthaya, where he was succeeded by his deputy Arnout Cleur.
