That works for me. When we move something (the only way to retitle, right?) how do we delete the old entry? Or does it even need to be deleted?

:OK, as you can see, I've moved it - so I guess the best way to continue is the start with a general overview, and then examine different "types" of shinto in sections.  --[[User:Shogun|Kitsuno]] 23:05, 25 September 2006 (PDT)

Why "Jinja" Shinto as the title? The article doesn't really make that apparent (at least not to me), and if this is a more or less general article about Shinto, shouldn't it just be titled "Shinto"? Just trying to clear that up for myself. --Kitsuno 01:14, 25 September 2006 (PDT)

"Jinja" means Shinto Shrine. "Jinja Shinto" means "Shinto shrine Shinto". It doesn't make sense--Shikisoku 03:58, 25 September 2006 (PDT)

Couldn't he be making a distinction between State Shinto and Shrine Shinto or something like that? Nagaeyari 05:01, 25 September 2006 (PDT)

It's addressed in the final section-that the general form of Shinto (Jinja Shinto) is different than State Shinto, Folk Shinto, etc (which, while sharing many of Jinja Shinto's points and practices, have important differences). At some point, I was going to add entries for these. Probably the last paragraph needs to go at the beginning to make this clear (remember, I basically just cut and pasted my general 'sticky' topic from the forum). Yes, I know Jinja Shinto means 'Shinto Shrine Shinto'-it's used here in the US to differentiate those shrines that are registered with the Jinja Honcho association from the other forms (and I couldn't come up with a less awkward term). At any rate, if you think it's better served by being simply 'Shinto' feel free to move it. I don't think the PC Kami would be angry.
