History

Founded by Fukuno Shichirouemon Masakatsu, known in his youth as Tomoyoshi. He learned Shinkage Ryu kenjutsu from Yagyu Sekishusai Muneyoshi, and later learned Teishin Ryu from Terata Heizaemon Sadayasu (寺田平佐衛門定安).

It was originally known as Fukuno Ryu.
