Kashihara Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the city of Kashihara, in Nara prefecture, the supposed Imperial capital of Japan's first (legendary) emperor, Emperor Jimmu. The shrine was established in 1890, on the 2,550th anniversary of Emperor Jimmu supposedly establishing (and ascending to) the throne at Kashihara in 660 BCE.
