The two domains reached a rapprochement, and in 1866/1, [[Saigo Takamori|Saigô Takamori]] and [[Katsura Kogoro|Katsura Kogorô]] met at [[Komatsu Tatewaki|Komatsu Tatewaki's]] residence in Kyoto.
