As a child, Sadayakko was educated in reading & writing, [[judo]], and horseback riding. She later became a mistress to [[Prime Minister]] [[Ito Hirobumi|Itô Hirobumi]], before marrying actor & theatre troupe leader [[Kawakami Otojiro|Kawakami Otojirô]], with whom she toured the United States.
