Jôkyô-ji is a temple of the [[Jodo shinshu|Jôdo-Shinshû]] Honganji sect, located on Sanjô-dôri in the city of [[Nara]].
Originally located in [[Kawachi Province]] ([[Osaka]]), the temple was moved to Nara in the 16th century. It was established in its current location by the [[Tokugawa shogunate]], which officially provided, or designated, the "temple lands" in [[1603]].
[[Ernest Fenollosa]] gave a lecture at the temple on [[1888]]/6/5.
