Mao Guoke was a warrior in the army of the [[Ming Dynasty]], captured by the [[Shimazu clan]] during [[Toyotomi Hideyoshi]]'s [[Korean Invasions]]. He was sent back to China in [[1600]], alongside [[Torihara Soan|Torihara Sôan]], as part of an effort to establish normalized relations between Japan (now under the [[Tokugawa clan]]) and the Ming Court.
