The Neshima of [[Osumi province|Ôsumi]] were descended from [[Taira Koremori]], whose grandson [[Neshima Kiyoshige|Kiyoshige]] took the name Neshima. During the [[Nambokuchu Period]] they supported the [[Northern Court]] and supported [[Imagawa Sadayo]]. They came under the influence of the [[Kimotsuki clan|Kimotsuki]] but in the later years of the [[Sengoku Period]] became a [[Shimazu clan|Shimazu]] retainer family.
