He held [[Mitake castle]] in [[Kai province]] until the [[Battle of Mikatagahara]] ([[1572]]), at which point he was assigned to Futamata in [[Totomi province|Tôtômi Province]]. Futamata was quickly surrounded by the [[Tokugawa clan|Tokugawa]] after the Takeda defeat at [[Battle of Nagashino|Nagashino]] in 1575 and Nobumori himself died of illness during the siege.
