Nobunari served the [[Ashina clan]]. At first of relatively humble rank, Nobunari and his men repeatedly distinguished themselves fighting against [[Date Terumune]] on behalf of [[Ashina Moriuji]] at Hibarayama, and Nobunari was consequently awarded a fief in Yama District. However, his son, [[Anazawa Nobutaka]] (Shin'emon), was overthrown and killed in a rebellion in [[1584]].
