He was [[Jujutsu]] dojo master in Osaka before joining [[Shinsengumi]].
He commited [[Seppuku]] but saved by [[Shinohara Tainoshin]].
However, he died soon because of the wound.
The reason of his Seppuku is believed to be accused by [[Hijikata Toshizo]] for having affair with a [[Ronin]]'s widow. The Ronin was killed by Matsubara himself.
