Julia was a daughter of [[Naito Tadatoshi|Naitô Tadatoshi]] and a noted Christian. She was widowed at 22, and became a Buddhist nun. In 1595 she became a Christain and took the name "Julia". She was a part of the missionary work centered in Kyoto, interacting with the wives and consorts of many Daimyo, converting [[Ukita Hideie|Ukita Hideie's]] wife and others to Christianity. In 1606 she organized a nunery, however in 1616 she was forced to leave the country along with many notable Samurai due to the Bakufu's restrictions on Chritianity. She spent the remainder of her life in Manila, where she passed away in the 3rd month, 25th day of 1627.
