Emperor Itoku was the fourth Emperor of Japan according to the traditional ([[Meiji period]]) order of succession. He is known only from legendary accounts in documents such as the ''[[Kojiki]]'' or ''[[Nihon shoki]]''; there is no archaeological or historical evidence of his definitive existence, or of an organized Japanese state during the time of his supposed reign.
