''Ôbaki'' (lit. "large leaf tree") are trees in the Euphorbiaceae family, sometimes known as splurges in English. They grow naturally in the [[limestone]] environment of [[Okinawa Island|Okinawa]].
The trees often grow to be three to five meters tall, with branches that extend out horizontally, providing considerable shade. The large leaves were traditionally sometimes used to wrap food.
