The Itchû-maru was a [[Choshu han|Chôshû han]] steamship prominent in the [[Bakumatsu]] period. Originally a British vessel named ''Union'', it was obtained by [[Satsuma han]] from [[Thomas Glover]] in [[1865]] and renamed ''Sakurajima-maru'', before later coming into the possession of Chôshû and being renamed again.
