Kagesuke supported [[Uesugi Kagekatsu]] in the [[Otate no Ran|Ôtate no Ran]]. He and his brother [[Yoshie Sukekata|Sukekata]] ([[1537]]-[[1582]]) were later tasked with defending [[Uzu castle]] in [[Etchu province|Etchû]] and committed suicide when that place fell to [[Shibata Katsuie]] and [[Sasa Narimasa]] in June 1582.
