*''Japanese'': 瑞巌寺 ''(zuigan-ji)''
Zuigan-ji is a [[Zen]] [[Buddhist temple]] located in [[Matsushima]], [[Miyagi prefecture]]. One of the oldest Zen temples in all of [[Tohoku|Tôhoku]], it was built in [[828]]. Though it fell into disrepair over the centuries, the temple was restored by [[Date Masamune]] in [[1609]].
The temple contains two [[National Treasures]]: its main hall, and a kitchen building known as the ''kuri''.
