Emperor Go-Sai was an [[emperor]] of the early [[Edo period]].
Go-Sai was a son of [[Emperor Go-Mizunoo]] by his consort Kushige Takako, also known as [[Hoshunmon-in|Hôshunmon-in]], and took the throne in [[1654]] following the death of his half-brother [[Emperor Go-Komyo|Emperor Go-Kômyô]]. Go-Sai's official accession ceremony was held on [[1655]]/11/28.
He abdicated in [[1663]] in favor of one of his half-brothers, who then took the throne as [[Emperor Reigen]].
