Ôyama Tsunayoshi was the first governor of [[Kagoshima prefecture]].
He was elected governor of Kagoshima in [[1874]], but was stripped of his position in [[1877]] after it was discovered he was supplying funds and ammunition to [[Saigo Takamori|Saigô Takamori's]] [[Satsuma Rebellion|anti-government rebels]]. Ôyama was arrested in [[Kobe]], and was executed on 30 September 1877. He is buried in the [[Nanshu Cemetery|Nanshû Cemetery]] in [[Kagoshima]].
