Wen Zhengming was a major [[Ming Dynasty]] painter, known for his emulation of the styles of past masters.
He studied under [[Shen Zhou]], and is known to have been friends with [[Tang Yin]]. His work drew upon styles from the [[Southern Song Dynasty|Southern Song]] and [[Yuan Dynasty|Yuan Dynasties]], and often emulated in particular the work of [[Zhao Mengfu]].
