Thomas Glover was a Scottish trader who provided arms and assistance to the anti-[[Tokugawa shogunate|Tokugawa]] ''[[han]]'' of [[Choshu han|Chôshû]] through his [[Nagasaki]]-based trading company. [[Sakamoto Ryoma]] purchased arms with funds provided by [[Satsuma han|Satsuma]] for the venture.
