:It is simple to create a category - just write your article, and put this at the bottom: <nowiki>[[Category:Category Name]]</nowiki>. Just replace "Category Name" with the name of the category you create.
:As for an "other" category, let's just call it "Other Historical Figures" then - it's the same as "other" except that it sounds better.
