Manpukumaru was [[Asai Nagamasa|Asai Nagamasa's]] only son and hier, and half brother to Nagamasa's three daughters, [[Yodogimi|Chacha]], [[Hatsu]], and [[Oeyo]]<ref>Sources conflict on whether or not he was actually the son of Oichi or of one of Nagamasa's concubines</ref>. He was killed by [[Oda Nobunaga]] after the fall of [[Odani castle]] in 1573, to put an end to the [[Asai clan]] for good.
