Sanehisa, lord of [[Izumi castle]] in [[Satsuma province]], rebelled against [[Shimazu Katsuhisa]] in [[1526]] and attempted to establish himself as an independent power. He fought with the [[Iriki-in]] and in [[1539]] suffered the loss of a number of his forts, including [[Ichiku castle|Ichiku]] and [[Momotsugi castle|Momotsugi]].
