Ietada was related to [[Tokugawa Ieyasu]] and fought in many battles with him, including [[Battle of Anegawa|Anegawa]] ([[1570]]), [[Battle of Mikatagahara|Mikatagahara]] ([[1573]]) where he commanded part of the left wing, [[Battle of Nagashino|Nagashino]] ([[1575]]), and the [[Komaki Campaign]] ([[1584]]); in 1600 he was one of the defenders of [[Fushimi castle]] under [[Torii Mototada]], and died when that place fell to [[Ishida Mitsunari|Ishida Mitsunari's]] generals. He was also known as Katahara Ietada.
