Nobutaka was a son of [[Matsudaira Nobutada]]. He rebelled against his nephew [[Matsudaira Hirotada|Hirotada]] in [[1543]] and went over to [[Oda Nobuhide]]. He was killed at the [[second Battle of Azukizaka]] fighting alongside the [[Oda clan (Owari)|Oda]] against the [[Imagawa clan|Imagawa]] and [[Matsudaira clan|Matsudaira]].
