The Obata of [[Kai province]] were related to the [[Takeda clan|Takeda]] and served them into the [[Sengoku Period]]. Following the destruction of the Takeda in [[1582]], certain branches of the Obata went on to enter the service of the [[Tokugawa clan|Tokugawa]].
