The Miyake of [[Mikawa province]] were founded by a son of [[Kojima Takanori]] in the mid-14th Century. They at first fought with the [[Matsudaira clan]] during the 16th Century, then became retainers of them after [[1558]] during the time of [[Miyake Masasada]]. [[Tokugawa Ieyasu]] later gave [[Miyake Yasusada]] (a son of [[Miyake Masasada|Masasada]]) a 10,000-[[koku]] fief in Mikawa and in [[1592]] named him a councilor.
