There is a document from the 10th year of Keicho (1605) that documents and ''Enmei Ryu'' to a Miyamoto Yoshigaru (宮本義軽), but it is unclear if this is the same as ''Miyamoto Musashi''. It does appear that Musashi was using this name for his style of swordsmanship prior to the early Kan'ei era (1624-1644). He eventually changed the name to ''[[Niten Ichi Ryu]]''. It can also be found under the name ''Enmei Niten Ryu''.
