Tadayo was the son of [[Okubo Tadakazu]] and served [[Tokugawa Ieyasu]] as a general and an advisor. He played a notable role in the [[Battle of Mikatagahara]], leading a night raid with [[Amano Yasukaga]] against the [[Takeda clan|Takeda]] positions.
