Born in 1854, Ichimura Tetsunosuke was the third son of Ichimura Hanemoki, a samurai from Ogaki-han. Ichimura Tetsunosuke joined the [[Shinsengumi]] with his older brother [[Ichimura Tatsunosuke]] in [[1867]].
