Ôsuga Kôsai Kiyomitsu was a machi eshi (town painter) from Aizu Wakamatsu han. He is known for his 1847 folding screen painting of Edo castle now in the collection of the National Museum of Japanese History (Rekihaku), entitled Edojô tôjô fûkei zu byôbu. The screen depicts the entourages of numerous daimyo resting in a large plaza just outside the Uchi-Sakurada-mon gate of Edo castle, while their respective lords are in attendance within the castle.
