Ôiso no Tora, also known as Tora Gozen, was a late Heian period prostitute, based at the Chôtei brothel in Ôiso, Sagami province. She is famous as the lover of Soga Jûrô, and features in numerous kabuki plays. According to the stories, following Jûrô's death, Tora became a nun and devoted the remainder of her life to praying for his soul.
