Tomari gusuku

Tomari gusuku (not to be confused with the town of Tomari in Naha) was a fortress located in what is today Yomitan village in central Okinawa. It served as a watchtower and trading base for the main fortress of the area, Yara gusuku, located a short distance away.

Tomari is famous as the supposed location where the son of Chiyomatsu (third lord of Nakijin gusuku), and great-grandchild of King Eiso, took refuge after a failed rebellion.
