The article posits Yamatai's location in Kyushu, when the evidence is inconclusive. Gina Barnes, J Edward Kidder, Jr., and Walter Edwards (the leading English scholars on this issue) all believe in the Kinai theory. If you wanted to mention some largest chiefdoms without venturing into the Yamatai debate, I recommend looking at Matsuuri or Ito (can't remember their exact names), and the various chiefdoms one had to pass before reaching Yamatai, itself. Sounds good to me. I actually meant to drop you a note to ask if you might double-check and correct the stuff I wrote, and to see if you wanted to help out on such a fundamental topic. I don't mean to presume that I actually know what I'm talking about when it comes to such ancient history, though I have a strong interest. Thanks for your suggestions. Yea, once this semester is over and I'm back home, I plan on reading/writing a lot more. I'd love to help with the early history of Kyushu. Neato. Nagaeyari 00:52, 30 November 2007 (PST)
I'm going to go ahead and create a "Geographic Locations" category to put this and other areas into - and future articles on Shikoku, Ezo, Kinai, smaller places like Yoshiwara, etc. --Kitsuno 00:09, 30 November 2007 (PST)

Detail

Though it is slow-going, I do intend to continue to press forward with this article from time to time. Thing is, though, I am finding it very difficult to know what level of detail to go into on a topic as wide and general as all of Kyushu. Thus, I think I will include just about everything I can, and if it gets to the point that stuff should get split off into the separate articles on Dazaifu, Mongol invasions, etc, then we could just do that.

Sounds good? If anyone else (e.g. Kitsuno) has any thoughts on the degree of detail that is warranted, I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions. Cheers. LordAmeth 15:18, 29 January 2008 (PST)

Look at the Boshin War for one example of how it has been handled in the past. I'm going to put this article link in the task force. Hopefully someone will notice it there. If you have any other articles that you work on now and then, feel free to link them there as well. --Kitsuno 21:13, 30 January 2008 (PST)
Hm. The Boshin War article looks awfully ばらばら, with so many sub-headings and tiny paragraphs, but I can certainly take the hint and try to create briefer summaries, with "for more, see X" links. Thanks. LordAmeth 15:30, 31 January 2008 (PST)
No, I wouldn't say create briefer summaries, keep it as long as you want. I was just pointing out the structure. The Boshin War article isn't finished. --Kitsuno 17:06, 31 January 2008 (PST)
