I am sorry, I am a beginner in writing these articles. Sorry for not adding the source of the poem, I'll add it now. I suppose it is from the Samurai Sourcebook.-Akechi

:Akechi, you're doing a great job. It takes a while to get a hang of things, I know. Bullet points can be made by attaching asteriks to the beginning of your line of text. asterik blah blah yields:

Thanks for the tips, Nagaeyari. I will be sure to format my next article correctly, in which I hope to write about Regent Shotoku, unless you need me to write about something else.-Akechi

:Looks good! I look forward to reading your next article! When you refer to "Regent Shotoku" are you referring to Empress Shotoku/Koken? Surely not Shotoku Taishi? Thanks!

I am indeed refering to Shotoku Taishi, who founded Horyu-ji and son of Emperor Yomei. Maybe I should have referred to him as "Prince Regent Shotoku".-Akechi

:I can't wait to read your article on "Shotoku Taishi" (as he is most commonly known)! He's one of my favorite historical personages. I'd title the article "Shotoku Taishi" just because (1) it's used that way in most scholarly works and (2) you see articles called "Oda Nobunaga" but not "Daimyo Oda Nobunaga". Besides Emperors and Empresses, titles are hardly used in addresses. I'm excited to see your work. Nagaeyari 13:34, 30 November 2006 (PST)

Thank you for your encouragement, and I hope that I do not disappoint anyone with my next article. As I do have high regard for Shotoku Taishi, I will not allow there to be a lackluster article about him; which makes me contemplate whether my current knowledge of Shotoku Taishi is sufficient. I will need quite some time to put one of good quality together; and unless I have a little assistance in writing it, I doubt I will be done with it for awhile.-Akechi

:Well, this wiki is great in that you can add little bits at a time and it can be a cooperative effort. Oh, and I don't know if you know, but you can sign your name by putting the ~ sign down our times in a repitition, like ~ ~ ~ ~, but without the spaces. The "kwatchi" mentioned in this article--is it Kawachi? Nagaeyari 21:35, 28 November 2006 (PST)

:Yup, "Kwatchi" is the archaic outdated spelling that the older books use. (like "Kwaidan") --Kitsuno 11:24, 29 November 2006 (PST)

Are the rule dates I got from the MN article right? Was he exiled for a whole year? Nagaeyari 21:35, 28 November 2006 (PST)

:Well, Conrad Totman disagrees with my rule dates. I need another source. What do your books say? Nagaeyari 05:47, 29 November 2006 (PST)

Death Poem
I see that this death poem is on the Wikipedia page for Hojo Ujimasa. Was this taken from there? The poem really does need a citation--can you get your hands on any of Turnbull's books that you used? Thanks! Nagaeyari 12:35, 29 November 2006 (PST)

:If it did come from wikipedia, we could cite that, since that alone isn't a copyvio as long as it is cited, although I would rather get an actual book source.  --Kitsuno 13:47, 29 November 2006 (PST)
