Yukihisa was a son of [[Shimazu Tadamasa]] and a nephew of [[Shimazu Takahisa]]. He served [[Shimazu Yoshihisa]] in a number of campaigns and was eventually established at [[Sadowara]] in [[Hyuga province|Hyûga]]. with an income of 30,000 [[koku]].
